The Ascot KDS karate club was founded by Phil Glennerster in February 1986.
Phil commenced his karate training under karate master Harada in 1972. He was awarded his 1st Dan black belt by Harada in 1975 and his 5th Dan (the highest grade in this style of karate) in 1993.
We are a friendly club with both male and female members, a bunch of people from all walks in life. The enviroment is disciplined (it has to be for safety reasons), yet relaxed and friendly. We all encourage and help each other as much as possible while developing and finding our inner and physical strength.
The one thing we have in common is desire to improve our karate skills and technique. That`s all we`ll ever ask of you.
Karate is open to everyone at any stage of their lives and we always welcome new members. If you are interested in learning the value of karate just come along to one of our sessions in comfortable sport clothes and give us a try!
